2011 SCCA FB compliant

Understanding the rules...

The SCCA FB class rules state that the gear shift system must be "direct acting" and that it must not allow the driver to "pre-select" shifts. To that end, all Geartronics GCU's that are shipped to the US will have the automatic mode disabled in firmware. This means that neither the user, or our North American agent (Firman West Cars), can access these modes. When automatic mode is disabled in the firmware, the configuration software will clearly state that this is the case.

In SCCA compliant 'manual' mode, the GCU is not capable of making automatic upshifts or downshifts. It does not 'stack' any downshift requests. There is a simple over-rev protection that will decline a downshift request if the shift would result in the engine exceeding its safe RPM. However, if a downshift request is declined, the driver must call for the shift again, otherwise no shift will occur

The system will only make one shift per request. In other words, if the driver requires 3 downshifts, he/she must pull (and release) the paddle 3 times. The driver request initiates the shift at that exact point in time. There is no delay and there is no 'stacking' or 'queuing' or any form of automatic or pre-selected gear shifting.
